WIC/Senior FMNP Coupons
OverviewIn addition to our efforts to increase food security for thousands of New Haven residents by accepting Food Stamps at all of our markets, every City Farmers' Market is also WIC certified by the CT Department of Agriculture, allowing us to accept WIC and Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) coupons. WIC coupons are benefits provided for women who are pregnant, nursing or have very young children and promote healthy nutrition at this critical time of development. WIC/Senior FMNP coupons are only redeemable at farmers' markets and CitySeed is committed to providing healthy foods for pregnant women and new mothers. Farmers' markets become WIC certified after the Department of Agriculture reviews farmers' crop plans and conducts farm visits to ensure that the food is Connecticut grown. City Farmers' Markets feature exclusively Connecticut-grown fruits and vegetables so that FMNP recipients can purchase from every vendor. |

How to use FMNP coupons at the market
FMNP recipients can make purchases using their coupons from any farmer at City Farmers' Markets for fruits and vegetables only. Each coupon is worth $3 and for the customers' convenience, most of the farmers will bag produce in the equivalent of $3. As in the redemption of Food Stamps, no change can be given for FMNP coupons spent at the markets.
